AP Forest: Center approves sale of 5300 metric tonnes of red sandalwood: PCCF Madhusudan Reddy

PCCF Y Madhusudana Reddy said that the forest department will take all measures to provide full income to the government through the sale of redwood. An interaction was held with red sandalwood buyers at the forest department headquarters on Thursday.
On this occasion, he said that the red sandalwood buyers and agencies have been invited for awareness before holding the auction of the red sandalwood reserves held by the government.
He explained that the main purpose of this meeting is to achieve as much revenue as possible for the government. He said that the Government of India has granted permission to sell 5,300 metric tonnes of red sandalwood at the request of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the AP government has appointed Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation as the agent for sale and export for the smooth running of this business.

APFDC will do the entire sale, he said. PCCF revealed that they will conduct a global sale through this tender and auction system. He said that it has been primarily decided to hold the auction at the end of February this year.
He said that the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department is very clear about the sale of red sandalwood and their actions will be aimed at bringing revenue to the government.
It has been explained that the tender process will be conducted with full transparency without any problems after examining the previous tenders. He said that the government is taking all precautions so that the buyers coming from abroad do not face any problems.
Representatives from India and Hong Kong participated in this meeting. PCCF Production Mr. RP Khajuria, AP Forest Development Corporation CGM Mrs. Revathi, GM Gurumurthy and others participated in the program.
