Singareni: 100 million tonnes of coal production in next five years as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat: CMD N. Sridhar at Republic Day celebrations
Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and MD of Singareni Company (SCCL) said.that Singareni Company is providing coal and thermal power for the development of the country, and as part of Atma Nirbar Bharat, it will go forward in a planned manner to reach the target of 100 million tons of coal production in the next five years.
He spoke as the chief guest at the 74th Republic Day celebrations held at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad. He said that the Singareni company achieved a turnover of 26 thousand crores last year and this year it is moving towards achieving a turnover of 34 thousand crore rupees with the production of about 70 million tonnes of coal.
He said that in the background of India’s development in all sectors, electricity consumption is increasing by 7 to 10 percent every year, and the demand for coal is also increasing accordingly. He informed that this is an opportunity for a company like Singareni and keeping this in mind, Singareni is ready to start ten new projects in the next five years.
As part of Atmanirbar Bharat, in the context of plans to stop foreign coal imports in the next three years, the central government has set coal production targets of 1200 million tonnes for public companies like Coal India and Singareni, and in addition to these, new coal blocks have been allotted to some private companies.

He said that the 1200 MW Singareni Thermal Power Station built by Singareni Company as part of its business expansion has become number one in the country with a plant load factor (PLF) of 91 percent in just six years, which is a proof of Singareni’s performance. In recognition of this performance, the Chief Minister suggested that another 800 megawatt supercritical thermal power plant should also be set up, and the construction work would begin in two months.
He also said that 220 megawatt plants have already been completed in solar power generation and another 80 megawatt plants will be completed soon. He said that Singareni is implementing many welfare programs which are not available in any public sector organization in the country keeping in mind the labor welfare. Therefore, Singareni employees also want to work for the achievement of production goals with protection as their responsibility.
On this occasion, Senior Law Officer Mr. Kolishetti Kaushal, who was selected as the best officer of Singareni Bhavan, and Mr. C. Ramakrishna, the security guard who was selected as an employee, were honored.
