Hyderabad: Nalsar’s voluntary blood donation camp concludes successfully: Collection of 40 units of blood
‘The NALSAR University of Law has always strived to be at the forefront of not just legal education but also social service. The University has been conducting voluntary blood drives since before the pandemic and it continued to do so over the last year as well. In fact, 35 units of blood were collected from NALSAR last year in blood drives organised in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, which was used for the treatment of underprivileged children suffering from thalassemia.
This year, NALSAR has collaborated with the Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Trust for the conduct of voluntary blood drives on campus. The Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to service in rural areas, with the objective of improving the lives of the underserved in the State of Telangana.![]()
Taking former Prime Minister Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao’s vision forward, the Trust has been serving the needy since 2018 through their rural blood bank at Gajwel Mandal in the Siddipet District of Telangana. The Blood Bank issues free blood to underprivileged children suffering from thalassemia and other life-threatening ailments.
The drive was held on Monday, March 13 at NALSAR in its newly inaugurated Primary Health Centre. The event was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Srikrishna Deva Rao and the University’s Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) K. Vidyullatha Reddy. An enthusiastic response was seen from the NALSAR Community, including students, staff, and faculty. A total of 40 units of blood were collected during the drive.’![]()
