Department of Chemistry, School of Science will celebrate ‘World Water Day’ at its campus on 21st March 2023. World Water Day (22 March, Since 1993) raises awareness and inspires action to tackle the water crises. The world committed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) promised that everyone would have safely managed water and sanitation by 2030. There is an urgent need to accelerate change- to go beyond ‘business as usual’.
In this view, it is proposed to do a pledge on water conservation on 21st March 2023, by the students and faculty. During the event, Prof. V.Venkata Basava Rao, Osmania University, Hyderabad and Dr. B.N.Murthy, Management Consultant, Environment, Aurobindo Pharma Limited will share their knowledge, research experience, and entrepreneurial avenues.
The poster competition will be held with a theme of water pollution causes and prevention, the importance of water conservation, water pollution impacts, and water crisis. Water models competition on pollution prevention and conservation will also be held. The face painting program will be held during the event on the theme of ‘save water’.
The last date for registration, model/ poster submission is 18th March 2023. For further information, contact Dr. R.Uma Devi or Dr. T.B.Patrudu (85004 95009)
IoT Hackathon & RC-Racing at GITAM

Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE), School of Technology, GITAM, Hyderabad will organize a two-day national level technical event IoT Hackathon & RC (remote-controlled) Car Race in the name of ‘Techquinox’ at its campus on 20-21 March 2023, in association with IEEE Student Chapter. Prof. T.Madhavi, HoD, EECE has informed in a press release on Wednesday.
The basic idea of the hackathon is to bring together some of the brightest and most promising minds among the students and provide a platform for them to exchange ideas, network, and learn from each other. The hackathon is based on IoT and 30 hours, nerve-wracking problem statements, and an environment full of code and logic, to create feasible, viable, and simplified solutions.
RC-Racing is a fun and exciting event where participants will be racing with remote-controlled cars and a challenging race track to compete with other players. It is proposed to design and build a manually controlled car, pass through the obstacles in the arena, and complete the race task within less time.
The winners may get a cash reward (about a lakh) and an appreciation certificate. For registration fee and other details, please contact faculty coordinator Dr. Prasantha R. Mudimela, pmudimel@gitam.edu or ieeehyd@gitam.in.
