Chief Minister’s Office OSD Priyanka Varghese IFS today planted saplings at Doolapally Forest Academy after accepting the challenge given by Yadadri Bhuvangir Collector Anitaramachandran as part of the Green India Challenge launched by Rajya Sabha member Joginipally Santosh Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Hon’ble Chief Minister KCR’s ambitious greening program for Telangana, which aims to increase the forest cover in the state of Telangana from 23 per cent to 33 per cent, is being implemented on a large scale and the plants are a testament to the full support received from people from all walks of life. OSD said that the leaves are growing into evergreen trees and forests.
The state of Telangana will reach this goal very soon. Rajya Sabha member Santosh Kumar’s Green India Challenge will complement this. OSD Priyanka Varghese said that this challenge will create awareness among the people. He said the responsibility of caring for the plants will increase. She congratulated Rajya Sabha members Santosh for taking such a good initiative.
