Heavy rains in Hyderabad inundate inland areas
Hyderabad is facing a similar problem again before people fully recover from the heavy rains that lashed Hyderabad four days ago. It has been raining non-stop since 7.00 pm on Saturday. Thousands of houses were affected by the floods, which lasted for two days. It is raining heavily across the city. It has been sunny since morning.
Heavy rains lashed Vanasthalipuram, Hayat Nagar, BN Reddy, Dilsukhnagar, Kottapeta, LB Nagar, Saroor nagar, Saidabad, Malakpet, Champapeta, Mansurabad, Nagol and Habsiguda areas. Moderate rains also lashed Shekpet, Medina, Charminar, Golconda, Tolichowki, Langerhouse, Mehdipatnam, Karwan, Bahadurpura, Zoopark and Puranapool in Kookatpalli, Rayadurg and Patabasti areas.
Although the floodwaters have receded with the recent rains, people are still struggling with the accumulation of mud. Roads were again inundated with torrential rains since Saturday evening. Motorists are always having trouble with this.
GHMC Enforcement Director Vishwajit said emergency services were alerted in the wake of another downpour in the city. He said there was a possibility of moderate rain across the city. He said personnel had already been sent to areas where water was stored due to the impact of the flood. Explained that all measures have been taken to avoid water storage. Cumulonimbus clouds have been pounding the area for the past two days, with light to moderate showers and a chance of heavy rain in one or two places, meteorological officials said.
