The world famous Jog falls in Karnataka will get a face lift at a cost of Rs. 120 crore.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was given details of the project during a Tourism department review meeting today in Bengaluru.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Tourism department P Ravikumar informed that the project cost will be finalised by this month end.
The Jog falls, where the Sharavati River takes a majestic plunge from a height of 830 feet will be illuminated, highlighting the cascading falls in different hues under the project.
There is also a proposal to install a rope way for the tourists to view the splendour of the falls from a vantage point.
During the review meeting, the overall development of other important tourist destinations in the state such as Kemmanagundi hill station, Nandi hills, the world heritage site of Badami caves, Srirangapattana and Mysuru haat were also discussed.
